Chromatic harmonica with warm jazz character
Few musicians mastered the chromatic harmonica as brilliantly as Jean-Baptiste Fréderic Isidor, Baron Thielemans — better known as Toots Thielemans. As one of the most iconic jazz harmonica players of the 20th century, he performed alongside legends such as Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald and Jaco Pastorius, and influenced generations of musicians, including John Lennon.
To properly honour this jazz legend, Hohner collaborated directly with Toots to create two instruments built to his personal specifications. The Toots Mellow Tone is the first of these models and is renowned for its warm, clear sound. Thanks to its short reeds and thin reed plates, it is perfectly suited for ballads and melodic jazz playing.
