The Cort GB64JJ is Cort's modern take on the classic J-style bass, with clear inspiration from the 1970s. It combines traditional aesthetics with modern versatility, giving you access to both classic bass tones and a wide range of contemporary sounds.

The ergonomically shaped offset Soft Maple body provides excellent playing comfort whether seated or standing. Soft Maple is less dense than hard maple while still being considerably denser than mahogany, providing a well-balanced combination of clear, bright articulation and a fuller, bolder character.

A standout feature of the GB64JJ is its roasted maple neck and fingerboard. By treating maple at high temperatures in an oxygen-free environment, the wood becomes more stable and develops a distinctive golden-brown vintage appearance. The roasted maple construction also contributes to a bold and pronounced tone.

For additional versatility, the GB64JJ is equipped with an active 9V preamp. The Blend control and 2-band EQ allow extensive tone shaping, while the push/pull function on the volume knob lets you disengage the active electronics and switch between active and passive operation. The result is a bass that retains the character of a classic J-style instrument while offering significantly greater tonal flexibility.
